Why did you choose the law?

I chose a career in law as it’s a varied, challenging and rewarding career. Alongside providing legal advice, working in law has provided me with the opportunity to meet and work with many different people, businesses and organisations.

Tell us a bit about how you got here…

I graduated from Staffordshire University in July 2013 after studying Law, before going on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham in June 2014 and joining Band Hatton Button in July 2014. I then completed my period of recognised training with Band Hatton Button, qualifying as a Solicitor in January 2017.

What does your day job look like?

I advise on a variety of property matters, including leases for landlords & tenants and acquisitions & disposals of retail, leisure, industrial and development sites.

I have a particular interest in advising both developers and land owners on site development matters, including site acquisitions, site set-ups, statutory agreements, option agreements, overage agreements and promotion agreements.

I am also developing my knowledge of agricultural land matters.

I take a keen interest in local business and the wider community. I am passionate about working with local businesses and individuals to achieve their goals by providing practical, cost effective legal advice.

What do you like to do outside of work?

In my spare time, I enjoy running, travelling and spending time with family and friends. I am a keen motorcyclist, enjoying trips to France, Scotland, Spain and the Isle of Man.

I’ve participated in several charity fundraising events on behalf of the firm and for causes close to my heart, including the Birmingham half marathon, the Wolf Run and I have even walked over hot coals!

I was proud to be named Warwickshire Junior Lawyers Division Trainee Solicitor of the Year 2016 and was a finalist for both the Warwickshire Law Society Young Lawyer of the Year 2016 Award and the Coventry and Warwickshire First YoungPro 2017 (Legal) Award.
