Why did you choose the law?

I wanted to be a voice for the vulnerable people and be in a position in society where I can help them with my knowledge and experience to make their lives easier. Growing up in an ethnic minority community, my family and I did not always have access to legal professionals when required which meant that we could not achieve the best outcome in our given circumstances at the time. Therefore, since a child I had developed a drive and passion for the law, in particular family and children law. I want to make a positive impact in the families lives, so that they can navigate through the difficult time in their life with ease knowing that they can trust and rely on me to always act in their best interest.

Tell us a bit about how you got here…

I started my legal journey in 2013 when I opted to study for law at an undergraduate level, (and it was the best decision of my life) I graduated with a first-class law degree in 2016. I then went on to complete my postgraduate degree in Master of Law in 2017. Thereafter, I went to work as a paralegal at a local firm for two years, subsequently completing my LPC amidst the lockdown (again another great decision!). I was offered a training contract upon completing of my LPC and I qualified as a Solicitor in March 2024.

What does your day job look like?

My day-to-day task entails taking client’s instructions on family matters such as divorce and finances, child arrangements, domestic abuse, instructing counsel when necessary to represent clients at hearings, working closely with my supervisor and other member of the team. No days are the same, I am learning new things every day and overcoming challenges as I progress in my field of law. This is one of the main things which keep me on my toes and keeps me motivated to strive for the best.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy travelling, baking, and trying out new sports. I also like to volunteer for various charity organisations whenever I get a chance.
