Just a small-town girl’s big dream

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be more than just a bystander—I wanted to be an advocate for the vulnerable.

Growing up in an ethnic minority community, my family and I often found ourselves without access to legal advice when it mattered most. It was frustrating, disempowering, and deeply formative. Those early experiences ignited a passion for law—particularly family and children law—where the human element is at its core.

My goal has always been clear from the moment when I stepped into the world of law - family lawyer! To be someone families can rely on when life takes an unexpected turn.

I strive to make the legal process feel less like a maze and more like a well-lit path, offering guidance, clarity, and unwavering support. Trust, empathy, and expertise are the cornerstones of how I work—and what I hope to bring to every client’s journey.

My legal career path began in 2013, when I took the leap into undergraduate law studies continuing from studying A-level law. I graduated with a First-Class Law degree in 2016, followed swiftly by a postgraduate degree in Master of Law, in 2017.

After gaining hands-on experience as a paralegal at a local firm for two years, I completed my LPC in the middle of a global lockdown—because why not add a bit of extra challenge to the mix? That decision paid off and I was offered a training contract upon completing my LPC and proudly qualified as a Solicitor in March 2024.

My role as a solicitor at Band Hatton Button has brought my dream into reality of working in one of the bespoke firms in the country, with some of the finest and brilliant lawyers! I say with pride that no two moments are alike—and that’s exactly how I like it.

My day-to-day involves working closely with my brilliant team and developing my experience from my senior colleague and mentor, Tracy Cross, a family solicitor and mediator of many years standing on a range of family law issues—from divorce and financial settlements to child arrangements and domestic abuse matters. I regularly liaise with other professional colleagues and tackle legal puzzles with both diligence and heart. Above all, the aim is to help our clients navigate their challenges with our support and expert knowledge.

Every day brings something new to learn and a new challenge to overcome—and it’s this constant evolution that fuels my motivation and drives me to deliver the very best for the people who trust me with their most personal matters.
