How we helped
We advised our client regarding a dispute over a personal guarantee on a commercial lease. The client’s company entered into a commercial lease with a local property developer to generate a base for her specialist nursing business. The lease was terminated before the expiry of the fixed term and the landlord tried to enforce an alleged personal guarantee entered into by the client. The matter has gone through an entire directions process and has gone to trial 5 times; each time adjourned. The client instructed a specialist forensic linguist to provide evidence that she did not send communications purportedly agreeing to enter into the said guarantee.
The matter is important to the client as she faces potential financial ruin if she loses at trial.
