Professionals Stay Linked in to Social Media

A social media seminar has been held to ensure business professionals stay 'linked-in' with the risks and benefits of profiling a business online.

Band Hatton Button Solicitors LLP - a major law firm based in Coventry - played host to over 40 business professionals at a social media seminar held at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.

Guest speaker Tim Shawcross, a Rugby based social media coach at The Biz Links, encouraged businesses to embrace social media platforms and discussed the positive opportunities available through networks such as Twitter and linked-in.

Julia Woodhouse, employment partner at Band Hatton Button, discussed ways that businesses can protect themselves online.

She said: "There are a wealth of benefits when it comes to using social media platforms to promote a business online.

"However it is important that both employees and employers are also aware of how to manage and combat risks such as online harassment, breach of confidential information and reputational damage."
