The Kenilworth and surrounding community are being urged to put their general knowledge to the test to help raise vital funds for people with learning disabilities.

The Rotary Club of Kenilworth is holding a quiz night on Thursday, November 17 at 6pm at the Holiday Inn in the town to raise money in aid of registered charity the Inclusive Leisure Education Activities Project (ILEAP).

ILEAP looks to include anybody aged four-years-old and above with learning difficulties and additional needs into leisure activities of their choice in the local community.

The fundraising idea came from Coventry solicitors Band Hatton Button who have recently joined Kenilworth Rotary as corporate members. The Quiz is being supported by Holiday Inn Kenilworth who have also recently joined and who are hosting the Quiz.

Kenilworth Rotary is a group of volunteers helping to develop and promote a thriving community in Kenilworth by working with others on a variety of projects, from charity fundraising to setting up foodbanks or responding to local and international disasters.

John Boothroyd, President at Kenilworth Rotary, said: "This quiz night is a great idea as it provides an opportunity to have fun and meet new people while giving back to a worthy cause in the local area.

"We are always on the lookout for new members - including organisations and individuals - that can bring fresh ideas that will have a positive impact on the local community."

Michelle Gavin is one of four solicitors representing Band Hatton Button as a corporate member and is helping to organise the quiz night.

She said: "Joining a community group such as Kenilworth Rotary not only allows us to put forward ideas, but we also get to hear about and have a positive impact on a variety of issues and initiatives that are happening in the local area.

"We are all looking forward to the quiz which will appeal to all generations, and have decided to raise money for ILEAP after hearing about the great work that they do when they joined a recent meeting."

Quiz teams can contain a maximum of five people and there will also be a raffle on the evening.
