My typical work day

As a paralegal, I provide support for the lawyers in our Commercial Property department, and I currently work directly with Dina Parmar. We work on a wide range of commercial property matters including leases, property purchases and sales, and auctions. The properties we work with can be anything from retail units to factory premises to buy-to-let residential properties.

Because our work is so varied, no two days look the same. For me, though, they all start in our main office - although our firm offers hybrid working, this is how I prefer to work.

Depending on our clients’ current needs, I could be opening files and obtaining initial instructions, collating a contract pack or lease documents, updating clients on the progress of their matter, preparing files for completion, or submitting applications to the Land Registry.

Favourite work memory

We held a Christmas Get-Together this past year in our office, with breakfast provided and a quiz. It was a really nice chance to catch up with colleagues I don’t usually see and have some time to relax and socialise before the break (even if our team didn’t win the quiz…).

Hobbies and interests

You can usually find me reading as I try to finish my book before it’s due back to the library. On the weekends, I meet with friends to play Dungeons & Dragons (which, if you’re not familiar, is the fantasy dice game they play in Stranger Things), and watch Coventry City if they’re playing at home. I also like live music – on my holiday days, I am usually heading to a concert!
