Why Did You Choose The Law?
It was something that appealed to me when I studied so I decided to focus on it and haven’t looked back since!
Tell Us a Bit About How You Got Here…
After completing my academic studies I decided to stay in the Midlands and I worked for a large regional firm in the Birmingham area, and then a well-known firm in Warwickshire prior to joining Band Hatton Button.
I am a consultant partner with Band Hatton Button.
What Does Your Day Job Look Like?
I deal with all areas of commercial property, including acquisitions and disposals, tending to deal with more challenging transactional work. I also deal with landlord and tenant work, with experience of dealing with pre-let transactions on new commercial development sites.
I also have experience of dealing with site assembly work for development sites and development transactions with associated construction documents. I have also completed several residential development site sales where promotions agreements have been used as well as complicated banking tools.
I act for several large regional and national retailers.
I assist a local charity with their day-to-day management requirements and have assisted several charities with property matters.
Days are generally spent dealing with matters such as those listed above as well as lots of client interaction and meetings. I have managed a large commercial property department for several years.
I am proud of my large client following, I think this is mainly due to my approachable, pragmatic and friendly manner. I also do my best to explain tricky issues in clear and easy to understand terms.
I was named Lawyer of the Year at the Warwickshire Law Society Awards in November 2018.
What Do You Like to do Outside of Work?
I enjoy being outdoors and was a Scout Leader for over 11 years, starting both cub and scout groups that continue to this day. I enjoy going to the gym and running and try to complete several half-marathons each year. I also enjoy watching sport and try to get to a live football game every couple of months.
