About Me

After studying law at the University of Sheffield, I began my legal career with a somewhat unique training contract, spending time at the Manchester, Leeds and London offices of a national law firm before deciding to qualify into commercial property in London.

Since qualifying, I have worked in London and Birmingham at a number of top-tier City law firms, advising on a wide variety of high-value and complex commercial transactions. Joining Band Hatton Button as a Partner in 2025 was an exciting opportunity to continue delivering pragmatic, client-focused advice while helping to grow the firm’s commercial property offering.

My Role

My work includes acquisitions and disposals for occupiers and investors, a broad range of landlord and tenant matters, development projects, property finance transactions for lenders and borrowers and corporate support work.

Alongside managing transactions, I invest time in getting to know my clients’ businesses, understanding their commercial objectives and finding practical solutions to help them achieve their goals. I take pride in building long-term relationships and becoming a trusted adviser. As a Partner, I am also committed to mentoring junior lawyers and collaborating with colleagues across the firm to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.

What I Enjoy Most

I wasn’t one of those people who always knew they wanted to be a lawyer. Throughout my career, I have come to appreciate that the most rewarding part of my role is working with people, understanding their objectives and helping them navigate often complex property matters. That’s what ultimately drew me to commercial property and, more than 20 years later, it remains one of the aspects of my work that I enjoy most.

Outside the Office

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, keeping active and travelling whenever I get the opportunity, with one of the highlights being a nine-month trip around the world before starting my legal career.

Having played football and cricket for many years, I now spend more time in the stands supporting Coventry City with my son!

I’m also actively involved in my family’s charitable foundation in Punjab, India, and I try to visit every few years.
