Why did you choose the law?

I first became interested in Law when I started studying for my A-Levels in 2010 and it was then that I became aware of the ever-changing nature of the law which instantly fascinated me. By the end of my A-Level studies I was set on a career as a Solicitor and knew that I wasn’t going to let anything stand in my way of achieving that goal.

Tell us a bit about how you got here…

I graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a 2:1 LL.B (Hons) degree in 2015 and then went on to join a well-known Coventry firm as a Paralegal whilst I studied part-time for the Legal Practice Course (LPC) with a Masters in Legal Practice (LL.M) at the University of Law in Birmingham.

Upon completion of the LPC and LL.M, I joined a firm in Nuneaton to complete my training contract and it was there that I successfully qualified as a Solicitor in 2020. Since then, I have been working as a Commercial Property Solicitor at the same firm up until joining Band Hatton Button LLP in March 2022.

What does your day job look like?

Working in a busy Commercial Property department means that two days are never the same and it is that which continues to excite me about my job.  I advise clients on a wide range of property matters including acquisitions and disposals of land and property both freehold and leasehold, land development matters including option, promotion and overage agreements, landlord and tenant matters and commercial refinancing transactions.

I have acted for a wide range of clients including developers, investors and SIPP pension funds and ranging from landlords owning large portfolios to individual tenants taking on their very first lease.

My clients are the most important part of my job and I understand that each and every transaction requires expert advice and efficient communication combined with a friendly nature and I believe it is this approach which keeps my clients happy.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of Work?

Outside of work I enjoy eating out, shopping and socialising with friends and family but most of all, I love to travel.  My favourite trips so far include Bali, Dubai and St Lucia and my travel wish list is always growing.
