About Me

I began my career as an office junior at Anthony Stockton Solicitors in 2001, where I soon found an interest in the financial side of the legal profession and began spending more time working within the Accounts team.

I later moved to Varley Hibbs and Hammons, where I continued to develop and progress my career in legal finance, before joining Band Hatton Button as Accounts Manager in September 2014. I have since progressed to become the firm's Head of Finance.

My Role

As Head of Finance, I'm responsible for all aspects of client financial transactions, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT requirements, as well as overseeing the day-to-day running of the department.

My role also extends beyond finance into a number of administrative responsibilities across the firm, including supporting and training new members of staff. I'm a member of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management (ILFM) and also act as the firm's Deputy Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA).

What I Enjoy Most

I really enjoy the variety of my role and the balance between my finance and administrative responsibilities. No two days are ever the same, and I particularly enjoy being presented with a problem that needs solving, unpicking everything to understand what has happened and then putting it all back together again.

I also enjoy working with and training new members of staff and being able to support colleagues across the firm.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors just as much as being cosy indoors. I love getting my walking boots on and exploring wherever I happen to be, particularly when I'm camping.

I'm also a big Formula 1 fan, so if I'm at a race, the track definitely takes centre stage. Throw in some live music and I'm in my element! When the weather isn't quite as inviting, you'll usually find me on the sofa with a good box set or book, and the cat of course!
