Why did you choose the law?

In the summer of 2017 as a part of my A-Level work experience, I had the privilege of being placed at Band Hatton Button as part of the Mindshop excellence programme.

The programme, run through Coventry based accounting firm Dafferns LLP, involved undertaking a week of intensive problem-solving around a given real-life business issue.

While placed at Band Hatton Button I had the opportunity to interview some of the staff members and this was where I first became interested in Law. As I began to hear more about the roles and responsibilities of those within the legal profession I became ever more interested and knew this was the career path I wished to pursue.

Tell us a bit about how you got here…

In February 2018 I was given the opportunity to go back to Band Hatton Button and have a 1-week work experience to see if legal profession was the path I wished to pursue. It was on this work experience where I began to really gain a passion for Law and knew that the legal profession was where I wished to pursue a career.

Since then I have been privileged enough to have 2 further work placements and have secured a paralegal apprenticeship with the firm.

What does your day job look like?

My role as a Paralegal is to support the lawyers in the Litigation team by working with them on a range of cases to help further my own knowledge of the litigation process as well as helping meet deadlines and carrying out tasks to ease the litigation process.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of Work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as going to the gym. My interests include various sports such as Rugby, Football and Boxing.
