A Boost to our rankings in The Legal 500

We're pleased to announce that Band Hatton Button has strengthened our position in a leading guide of law firms in the UK.

Band Hatton Button has been included in seven different categories of the Legal 500, up from six in 2016, while 16 of the firm's lawyers were also given recommendations.

The Legal 500 is read by around four million people every year, and is aimed at buyers of legal services.

The firm's employment team has been included in the guide for the first time in the West Midlands employment section.

Mark Ridley, partner in the employment team, was recognised for helping an automotive firm successfully contest a tribunal claim brought against them, while he also successfully acted for a client claiming constructive dismissal and breach of confidentiality.

Other departments within the firm that kept their current Legal 500 rankings includes charities, commercial property, corporate and commercial, debt recovery, family, personal tax trusts and probate.

Highlights of the year include the corporate and commercial team, led by partner Sean Byrne, acting on the £1.2 million sale of a chemical cleaning company, while also advising a client on a £2.5 million acquisition of a timber supplier.

Band Hatton Button's debt recovery team, led by partner Jonathan Wilby, also successfully recovered £323,000 in unpaid invoices for one client, and was able to assist a care home in claiming back substantial arrears.

Sarah Jordan, Head of Marketing & Client Relations at Band Hatton Button, said: "The Legal 500 is one of the most prestigious guides in the UK as it attracts so many visitors, and to have increased our category profile is fantastic.

"Having 16 recommended lawyers is testament to not only the sought-after experience we have, but how hard we are striving to provide personalised services amid high workloads.

"We're also delighted to have fared so well against some tough competition, particularly in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

"We're expecting a busy year ahead especially across our sectors, and recommendations by guides such as the Legal 500 are key to helping us to develop as a business."
